Who is an Estate Representative?

Rate this response

An “estate representative” is the person named by the deceased in the will to administer an estate. This person may also be known as “executor”, “estate trustee” or otherwise depending on the province. Sometimes, multiple estate representatives may be named in the will.
If there is no will or the will doesn’t name an estate representative, or if the estate representative is unwilling or unable to act, an estate representative may have to be appointed by the court to settle the estate.
